Tradition

In grand tradition, we accepted Keith's parents' gracious offer to stay in the Kimball in downtown SLC to look at the lights at temple square.  We have been doing this since Benson was a baby and it is one of my favorites, even though we generally freeze to death, get lost, get frustrated with each other, can't decide on what to eat for dinner or something like that.  This year was filled with lots of the aforementioned moments, but was wonderful too.  We went up on a Thursday and bundled up and headed out to see the magnificent lights.

The lights were stunning as usual.

TRAX was toasty warm and my favorite part.  I wanted to stay on it all night.

Since our favorite restaurant has been moved from the gateway, we really struggle with where we should eat dinner.  Plus at this point, we were all kind of ornery and tired.  So we went to the food court where the kids chose "Hot Donalds" aka McDonalds and Keith and I shared a taco.  We headed back to temple square after that and marvelled at the Nativity, ooohed and ahhhhhed at the lights and listened to a youth choir sing beautiful Christmas songs.  Then, we walked back to our hotel.  Somehow, Santa knew we were staying there and left gifts and a note for the boys.  We were so excited!! How did Santa know we were there?  He brought Leo a ball.
I think he liked it!
And he brought the boys all matching jammies and told them things he couldn't possibly know like, "I hope you enjoyed looking at the Christmas lights and looking at Baby Jesus because he is the reason we celebrate Christmas."  Oh yeah, and he told Griffin to be good in nursery.  Maybe we have been having a problem in the area.  :)  Griffin will go to primary this week though, so let's hope the problems decrease and not increase.
I love Christmas jammies so much!
