Something about spring makes me a feel like a "nesting mother." I feel the urge to get "things ready." What for? I am not exactly sure. But in the past month, we have completely redone our kitchen, refaced cabinets for the laundry room, re-organized, painted, and re-done our little boys room so that they now share, and bought the wood floor that we plan to install through most of our upstairs (I'm not sure if I'll survive that project). I've even helped, in fact I did the entire "boys room project" and laundry room cabinets too. I must admit, I am getting tired.
Yet among all the work we have been doing, we have managed to squeeze in some Spring fun. In fact we've either been out of town or had company for the past month. Last weekend, we went to Keith's parents house for their annual Easter egg hunt and parade.
Here is a snapshot of our family at the parade (we also all did the mile walk that morning which was pretty fun). Sorry, we couldn't get Griffin to look away from the parade for the picture.

Here's Keith carting Griff around in his parents Amish scooters. Aren't they cool? I totally want one.

And here is Benson hunting for eggs. Keith's mother does three Easter egg hunts; one for the babies (both of my children fall into that category), one for the kids, and even one for the adults. It is sooooooooooooo fun and one of my favorite activities of the year. She does it like a scavenger hunt. It's awesome and they even give out money, lots of money!

Here is Keith and I with our bags of loot!

Griffin with his egg. And perhaps it seems a bit late to be having an Easter egg hunt, but we like to do it when it is actually warm outside. Plus Keith's mom plans it around their town parade, so there are plenty of activities for us to do all day.

But, back to work. Besides playing, we have worked, worked, worked. Here are my new kitchen cabinets. I heart them. We still haven't painted the wall yet. I can't quite decide on a color.

Ever since I bought this white crib, I wanted a blue wall behind it. Well, three years later I got my wish. Here is the cornflower blue wall.

Well, apparently all of this Spring fun has exhausted my kids because they have fallen asleep all over the place lately. Here is Benson snoozing in the wagon while we walked around some booths after the Easter egg hunt.

The hat served as sunscreen.

Benson came upstairs yesterday and asked me where Griffin was. I was a little worried, because I had sent them both downstairs together. Benson said "Gwiffin sweeping." (translated: Griffin sleeping) I tried to explain to him that Griffin was supposed to be playing downstairs with him. Benson insisted that he was asleep and made me follow him downstairs. Here is what I found.
He fell asleep watching a ten minute cartoon. Soooooo sweet. This kid really is just like his dad. As soon as he sits still, he falls asleep.
Whew, I am tired. I think I may go take a nap.
